The Evans Family

Missionaries to São Paulo, Brazil

About Us

As a family, we are so excited about the opportunity God has given us to serve Him on the mission field of São Paulo, Brazil.  God has been preparing us for the ministry for over 10 years, and we are thankful for all He has done in our lives.  We would like to take a moment to tell you how and when God began His great work in us.

Chuck's Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home by two godly parents.  My father served as the pastor of an independent Baptist church throughout most of my childhood.  I made a profession of faith when I was young; however, I realized one night while attending camp at THE WILDS that I was not saved.  I responded when the invitation was given, and a teacher from my Christian school led me to the Lord.  After I graduated from high school, I strayed from the Lord and went through a period of rebellion.  I began dating Pam and we were married nine months later.  I was away from the Lord at the time, and we did not attend church for several years.  My parents prayed for us regularly and continually encouraged us to go to church.  Because of the influence of my parents and others, we started attending church at Bethany Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina where we both matured and grew in the Lord.  I served in many roles in the church, but I especially enjoyed working with missionaries and teenagers.  As Pam and I became more involved in the church, God began working in our hearts and directing us toward full-time ministry.  I was working as an attorney at the time, but was not sure how God could use us since I did not have any formal Bible training.  In 2005, God opened the door for me to attend Seminary at Bob Jones University.  After completing my education, God’s calling to the mission field was clear.  He has prepared us and equipped us for ministry, and we look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as we surrender to His will and continue our journey down the path that God has chosen for us as missionaries to São Paulo, Brazil.

Pam's Testimony

I had the wonderful privilege of being led to the Lord by my husband.  As a child, I attended church with my mother where I had heard and believed the Biblical account of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.  But it wasn’t until I was having a conversation with Chuck shortly after we were married that I realized that Jesus died for me personally, for MY sins, to make a way of salvation for ME.  I realized that I simply knew about Jesus, but I didn’t know Him personally.  That night, I confessed my sin, put my faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross, and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.  Chuck and I later began attending Bethany Hills Baptist Church, a small start-up church in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I was baptized.  This was a great place for me to grow in my new Christian faith, and gradually Chuck and I both became more and more involved in ministering there.  We attended Bethany Hills Baptist Church for 16 years where I received valuable ministry experience serving in ladies and children's ministries, children's and adult music ministries, teen ministries, Bible studies, and outreach and discipleship ministries.  We also had the wonderful blessing of having many missionaries and others in full-time ministry stay in our home when they visited our church.  God used all of these things to give us a desire to serve Him on the mission field.  For the past five years, we have attended Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where we have continued to grow spiritually and receive valuable preparation for the ministry.  It was about 1996 when God started burdening our hearts, and we have patiently waited on the Lord all these years as He has taught, prepared, and equipped us for the mission field.  We are thrilled to now be standing at the door of what we believe will be a thriving ministry in São Paulo, Brazil!

Our Children

God has blessed us with four wonderful children.

Nathan Carrie David Sarah

God has taught us some of our most important life lessons as we have sought His wisdom in the parenting of our children.   He has equipped each of them with their own unique personalities and gifts to use for His glory.  Our children will be tremendous assets to us as we travel on deputation and minister in Brazil.
